Charlos’ Story
On the night of May 24th, 2025 at approximately 10:00 PM, Charlos “Los” Bentley was loading up his family’s vehicle for a planned beach day at San Onofre the next morning when tragedy struck. A sedan sideswiped the vehicle, hitting Charlos and fleeing the scene. He was left alone on the pavement until his wife, Brooke, heard the crash and rushed to find him, immediately calling 911. (The driver was later apprehended and released on bail.)
Charlos spent 38 days in the Surgical ICU at a Mission hospital, fighting to recover. He had suffered multiple serious injuries, including brain bleeds, broken bones, and fluid in his lungs. The most urgent prayer requests right now are for brain healing and rest, as dedicated doctors and nurses care for him through a coma, mechanical ventilation, and a long list of complications. He was moved to a LTACH (Long Term Acute Care Facility) to continue his healing and prepare him for his next journey, full rehabilitation. Charlos is now officially back home in Southern CA surrounded by his family, friends and loved ones. Miracles do happen and he is making huge strides everyday toward full rehabilitation.
