Los had a good start to his Father’s Day morning, doing his daily early AM hangout + Bible study with his dad, Charles. The love witnessed between father and son (Charles and Los) each morning there in the SICU is truly inspiring and contagious. Make sure to give an extra special hug to the fathers in your life today. 🫶
Los remains in his coma condition. Dex (sedation med) has remained off overnight and into this morning, which is good and will hopefully allow the “wake-up meds” he started 2 days ago to continue their work unimpeded. 👍🙏 Los had an OK night. Running a bit of a fever back up to the 101 range. They will keep him on Tylenol / ice pads to help with managing that.
A little neuro-storming still off and on. But not spiking his blood pressure and heart rate as high as before, and Los is able to get back to normal resting state after a bit on his own without having to put Dex med back on.
CPAP (unassisted breathing) went for 9 hrs!!! đź’Şđź’Ş yesterday, before letting Los rest and recharge on the ventilator overnight. They turned CPAP back on this morning, and so far so good.
White blood cell count is back down to under 10 this morning! And chest X-Rays look good and clear (no signs of the pneumonia / infection concern from earlier in the week… a miraculous, quick, positive turn of events there showing the strength we all know Los has + the power of prayer working and seeing God’s hand behind Los and his medical team in real time) 🙏🙏
Cultures results…. Staph on respiratory culture results was confirmed, but all indications show it is under control (based on all other vitals and readings noted above).
While we were in there wishing him a happy Father’s Day and praying alongside him with our kiddos… Los was resting comfortably, and as the kiddos’ voices were talking in his ear about SanO and surfing — he had some consistent toe wiggles, finger movement, and a little bit of off and on blinking.
Let’s be praying that Los, our strong and brave man of God, can continue this big push today. Let’s go, Los!! 💪🙏🙏
