The night nurse was working through fever management most of the night due to Los’s neuro-storming. Fever got up to 102 range, and Dex (sedation med) turned back on and up to 0.6 to help with managing it. By 8:15am Dex lowered to 0.4 and fever is down 98 🙏. Los is resting pretty comfortably so far this morning.
Los did 8hrs on continuous CPAP unassisted breathing yesterday. 👍
CPAP will go on again mid-morning once they let him rest and recharge a bit more/ turn down the Dex a bit more (lowered to 0.2 as of 9:15am, with the goal to get if off completely again by later today).
A new update this morning (that we hadn’t seen Los do since he first did it a few days ago) is that Los was opening his eyes halfway! (still in a dazed state, but the Doctor liked what he was seeing there and called it good “spontaneous” eye movement, that Los did on his own without being triggered by pain/ rolling over for cleaning/ etc). Los kept his eyes open for about a 10mins straight!! (Opened a little wider than halfway / almost all the way open before dozing back off). 🙏🙏 More movement is occurring in his right arm and right hand today as well. 🙏
Other than the storming episodes, all other injuries/ readings/ vitals/ digestion are looking good and progressing well.
Today’s goal + prayer-focus remains to be for doctors/nurses to help Los find the right balance of meds + care to help him push through and get past these storming episode “speed bumps” (which will then allow Los and his family to transfer/transition him into the next neuro-specialized phase of the recovery journey). There is still a long road ahead, but we will continue to trust in God and lift praise up to Him for these continued small daily “wins” and this slow-but-steady forward progress in Los’s healing. 🙏🙏
Let’s go, Los! 💪
