Day 42

Charlos is resting peaceful and calm this morning after a good night here with John, his night nurse. John said that Charlos was without fever all night had good bowel movements. We have come to determine, along with the medical team, that Charlos’ Neuro-storming is generally a result of some type of discomfort like constipation, muscle aches, pressure on his right hip or other sensitive areas.

Today we expect to go back on the CPAP setting on his ventilator. We’re praying the time on this setting increases beyond yesterday’s eight hours to 12 or more hours today. Doctors are asking the team here to be more ‘aggressive’ with weaning him off of the ventilator. We all understand how important this is because without the weaning, Charlos cannot move onto the intensive rehab stage of his recovery.

Please be praying today that Charles is able to sustain his breathing on the CPAP mode on his ventilator, and that he will have a calm, restful day with little to no Neuro-storming. With these factors in place, we’re hoping it will be easier for him to open his eyes more frequently and have an improved state of consciousness.

Also, please remember to pray for all of those affected by these intense rainstorms, and floods out there in Texas; many lives have been lost more and still more are unaccounted for.

Blessings to all!
