Day 56
Well, here we are at the 8-week mark since Charlos’s accident and healing/recovery process. It is hard to believe it has been that long but, at the same time, amazing to see his constant progress!
Today, Los was wide awake, responsive and ready to go before 6:00am. Wanting to seize the energy and attentiveness, Los and Dad jumped into a physical therapy session. We did a fair amount of work on arms and legs from the top down. He was very responsive and quick to react to commands/requests on his left side while his right side is more delayed and less active. Once I told him, ‘The more we exercise, the sooner you get back on your feet”, he did not want to stop; his left leg flexes, extends and does leg lifts almost non-stop. He occasionally does the same on his left leg.
Los continued responding to questions and commands to do small tasks like when Brooke told him, ‘wiggle your right toe’,. and he did. He and Timo even had fun playing a few rounds of ‘Thumbs War’ with his left hand. It was a cool experience for all.
This evening Los enjoyed watching a Tom Cruise movie with Mom and Dad then began to doze off after it ended. Overall, it was a great day here! Thank you for your prayers, texts, and general reaching out!
