Quick PM update follow-up… Los is being transferred to new facility as of 5pm today. 🙌🙏 Just an FYI to those that have been visiting Los at Mission Hospital — that he will no longer be there. More info on the new LTACH location to follow shortly once the family gets the lay of the land and confirms the visiting hours and protocols there. The Bentley family continues to be blown away and so encouraged by all of the prayers and support flowing in from you all. Thank you so much! 🙏

Day 39 update
This morning Los had to work through a large storming episode. The doctors and nurses were able to get him settled back down, and explained the neuro-storming is to still be expected as his brain continues to heal (nothing too much out of the ordinary there with TBI – traumatic brain injuries). But the prayer and hope is that they can continue to be less frequent and less severe, as this morning’s episode had Los’s breathing rate per minute spike higher than it’s been the last few weeks (at the 50-60 mark).
This morning, Los has continued with consistent lifting of his head and moving of his arms/ hands/ fingers/ legs. 💪
Based on the good day yesterday, and visits/discussions with the next care facility in north Orange County — the plan today is to transfer Los out of the ICU this afternoon. At this new facility they will be equipped to more actively focus on waking him up and getting him off the ventilator. And the family and doctors all feel this is a good step in the right direction to get Los out of the ICU (treading water), and more actively helping him get into this next phase of his recovery process. All of us getting to witness Los get to this part of the process is truly a miracle in and of itself. 🙏
The goal in this next step of the process at this LTACH facility is to get Los to wake up and get off the ventilator. Once Los checks those boxes, he’ll be ready to transfer to a more specialized brain-care facility / physical therapy facility to kick that healing process into an even greater gear. 🙏
