June 10th – Morning update
A good nights rest on ventilator
CPAP all day again yesterday! And the nurse even started a bit of PT with legs on a small ergo-bike machine. đź’Ş
And yesterday evening, as Los was surrounded by family and his siblings, he started to open his eyes off and on…. Halfway open and in a daze for a few moments, before dozing back off for a good nights sleep. Los was also squeezing family members’ hands, rubbing his fingers together, and doing a bit of swallowing on his own. His eyes opened halfway for a few brief moments this morning as well. 🙏
The nurse’s commentary on it is that it is mostly spontaneous movement and a bit of purposeful movement (as he reaches towards his ribs / bandages — which is good to see). 👍. But still waiting for him to respond to directions / commands. So, continued prayers needed there, but also a moment to give praise to the Lord for these continued miraculous incremental improvements each day! 🙏
Vitals are good. Digestion flowing a bit better today!
The main game plan and goals for today: to keep working Los’ lungs on the CPAP, to get his legs moving on the ergo-bike again, and to try to keep working towards waking him up out of the coma.
