Los did 4 hrs on CPAP yesterday… Less time than the days prior, but nurses believe he was tired from the few long prior days on CPAP and wanted to focus on and prioritize rest. Prayers needed for Los’ strength to push through and get back into a CPAP rhythm there. The goal is for longer durations each day.
A decent night for Los on the ventilator last night. One neuro-storming incident, which he was able to recover from and settle back down for the remainder of the night.
Los’ eyes still opening halfway (dazed state) for a few moments off and on this morning. Consistent movement in left side arm, fingers, and toes. His Right side (where Los’ broken ribs, shoulder, and main brunt of bodily injuries are located) is starting to show a little bit of movement in fingers and toes. 🙏🙏
Blood pressure and heart rate are a bit low. Doctors keeping an eye on that (doctor believes it is mainly being caused by morphine / meds he is on, but will continue to closely monitor)
Airvo mask (high flow Nasal cannula) is the next goal (next step) after Los gets back into the groove on the CPAP. (Airvo is a high-oxygen flow mask that will allow them to temporarily turn off trach / CPAP / vent systems and see how Los does completely on his own with Airvo mask)
Blood gas test went “great” last night, and all O2, CO2, pH levels of blood readings were in line with what medical team wanted to see.
Digestion system and function is continuing to be doing what it should. They will be keeping him on minor dose of meds to ensure Los keeps it flowing.
Platelet levels have lowered a bit from yesterday! A good, hopeful sign there that the aspirin is working and things are stabilizing there 🙏. He will remain on light aspirin dose until levels are back to normal.
Main goals today from doctor: get back in a CPAP rhythm + rest
Some prayer and encouragement from Los’ brother-in-law, Brandon:
Let’s continue to pray for God’s will in this, giving praise for the blessings we’ve already received, and humble anticipation for the doors yet to open.
Psalm 18:2 The LORD is my rock, my fortress and my deliverer; my God is my rock, in whom I take refuge, my shield and the horn of my salvation, my stronghold.
God’s got this 🙏
Let’s, go Los! 💪
