Los went back on the ventilator last night, after a strong 24+ hrs. on it the day prior. CPAP will be going back on later this morning. Report from night nurse was that Los had an OK night. Two larger storming episodes that they had to help him work through. Dex (sedation med) is on at 0.4 as of this morning. Pretty similar to yesterday — with prayer-focus and main goals of the nurses and doctors remaining the same…. Another night of working through some neurological storming.   CPAP left on all night, and still going.  Good news and great progress on the respiratory CPAP side of things!  But still, some work to do on the neuro-storming and finding the balance of meds for Los to be able to rest / heal and get through this part of the recovery journey. This morning, so far, Los has been resting comfortably with some occasional mild storming off and on, which he is settling back / recovering from on his own.  Fever this morning has subsided back down to 98-99 range. The night nurse was working through fever management most of the night due to Los’s neuro-storming. Fever got up to 102 range, and Dex (sedation med) turned back on and up to 0.6 to help with managing it. By 8:15am Dex lowered to 0.4 and fever is down 98 🙏. Los is resting pretty comfortably so far this morning. It was a bit of a restless night for Los with nurses helping him work through some neuro-storming and round of fevers and perspiration caused by the storming. Overnight they had to put him back on Dex (sedation med) to get his body / blood pressure / heart rate to settle and recover from some storming episodes. As of this morning, he remains on Dex and is pretty comfortable with occasional minor storming here and there. Fever starting to subside. Los had a good start to his Father's Day morning, doing his daily early AM hangout + Bible study with his dad, Charles. The love witnessed between father and son (Charles and Los) each morning there in the SICU is truly inspiring and contagious.
