Los Goes Surfing!

Last week was a HUGE milestone for Los. With the help of the devoted community, friends and family — Los showed his strength and resilience as he got back on the surfboard for the first time since the accident to catch some waves with his wife, family and best friends!! What a special surf session, and answer to prayer.
While the road and journey to recovery is still long and winding, the encouragement and spark that this surfing milestone provided for Los was so cool to see. He has been smiling for days, and he had some extra pep in his step with his doctors and physical therapists this week. Let’s go, Los!

A note from Brooke (Los’ wife):
Hey friends!
Brooke here. We’re settling into summer quite nicely. Doing our best to slow down and get to the beach as a family as much as possible when we aren’t in therapy mode. Los is making big strides towards walking and talking and his right arm continues to make measurable gains as far as range of motion. This Father’s Day was extra special after reflecting on where we were one year ago. Last Father’s Day we were praying for our dad to wake up and come back home so we could get back to Sano together. That’s exactly how Charlos asked to spend his day this year. He was surrounded by so many of the amazing dads that have carried us through this year. We also have been able to spend time with both the Grindles and Bentleys over the past few weeks. As always we are overwhelmed with love all around. Los loves us so passionately and although he has waves of sadness and grief he continues to push forward with determination and loves the kids and I fiercely. We will never stop praising the Lord for all that he has pulled us through and the blessings He continues to shower over us. We love you all!

Praise report:
• Answered prayer – tandem sit-down bike donation came through for Los to ride around town w/ Brooke and his kiddos (smiles all around!!)
• Answered prayer with a local company stepping up to help get Los and his family into a bigger + safer personal vehicle (to now be able to fit all of Los’ equipment, wheelchair, and the rest of their gear)

The Bentley family continues to feel so loved and encouraged by you all! Your prayers and support (like the examples above) truly are making an impact, and we cannot thank you all enough!
