Charlos had some mild “storming” today which tells us his brain isn’t ready to wake up quite yet. However, he is getting prepped for jaw surgery tomorrow which will be so good to have that done! Please pray for the surgery and I’ll update you if I know a more precise time!

No news over the night, but no news is good news! Going to continue to lower sedation throughout the day on what’s called “sedation vacations” to see how he responds. Today was a rest day for Los! Which is just what he needed. Most likely looking at Jaw surgery Sunday so prayers for that!

We accomplished our goal of getting the MRI done today! His C-Collar was removed by the trauma surgeon; he only had minor strains in his neck. Planning on jaw surgery on Sunday, and his tracheostomy and G-tube will be placed sometime Friday or Saturday. The Neurointesivist confirmed the diagnosis of DAI from the MRI. Dr. has officially removed the unicorn horn brain sensors and Charlos is being prepped for the MRI. It has been ordered! The Neuro intensive started looking at all the scans looking at all the labs and he started drawing on the board and explaining the CT scan of where the bleed is on the pons is very small and it’s very close to the motor nerve line, but it’s not on the motor nerve line, so he’s optimistic that he’ll have full motor function!!!! More stabilization today, controlling his fevers and waiting on swelling to decrease. If he does not have any change in condition, he will have a repeat cat scan and MRI tomorrow morning. The MRI will provide clarity on diagnosis and treatment moving forward. Updated as of 11a Monday morning. They lighted his sedation this morning and he moved “postured” and took huge breaths.
